Allied
Health Programs are offered through the Southeastern
Regional Allied Health Consortium. The
Southeastern Regional Allied Health Consortium was
created in 1991 and currectly consists of the Coastal
AHEC and three other Southeastern North Carolina
community colleges:
Its members work in cooperation with the Coastal
Carolina Health Alliance of hospitals in an eight-county
region of southeastern North Carolina to serve health
education needs in those counties. The goal for
the Consortium is to address this region's critical
shortage of qualified allied health providers and to
meet the personnel needs of local health care employers.
Students can meet admission requirements for any of the
programs below at BCC and can complete the specified
general education courses required in the allied health
program at BCC with guaranteed transfer of the courses
taken here to the college offering the curriculum.
The major courses in the allied health curriculum are
taken at the community college specified as the college
offering the program
