NOTE:
Effective Fall Semester 2000, ENG 075, 085, 095
– a single sequence of developmental courses
that combines the study of reading and writing –
replace RED 080, 090, and ENG 080, 090/090A –
parallel sequences of developmental reading and
writing courses.
Students are required to take
both the ASSET or COMPASS Reading
and Writing assessments to determine their
placement in developmental ENG 075, 085, 095 or
college-transfer ENG 111: Expository Writing.
The student’s lowest assessment score determines
placement. For example, if the reading score
places a student in ENG 085 and the writing
score places the student in ENG 095 (or vice
versa), the student must take ENG 085; or
another example: reading score > ENG 095;
writing score > ENG 111 = placement into ENG
095.
