Philosophy and Goals of Advising

Brunswick Community College takes pride in its commitment to Academic Advising and conducts a systematic and effective program.  The focus of the commitment lies in the great educative value of faculty advisors helping students to set meaningful, self directed life goals.  Learning decision-making skills needs to be facilitated by a knowledgeable and caring faculty member.  The College ensures that the number of advisees assigned to faculty members is reasonable and equitable.  Students are assigned to an advisor based on their selected program of study.  Advisement updates are held on campus prior to the fall and spring semesters.
